the right side of the image is the closest part (the brick) should i have the brick just thicker lines or leave it? dont know how to make the brick read as the closest thing...
If the volume with the brick is the closest, then you can try to make the outline of that piece have the darker lineweight than the pieces behind it. I like the lineweight of the bricks the way you have it.
Also, if you have time to add shadow, then you'll definitely be able to tell what's closer.

shadow will make it, dont even bother with the line weight
